Correcting tests. Headache. Hot tea. Auxiliary pioneering. Talk about the Mosaic Law. Exercising. Sneezing. Having lessons. Running nose. Sore throat. Cough drops. Echinacea. Nasal spray. Sleep. Coffee. Work. Sleep. Even more sleep.
I guess you could say that this is last week in a nutshell. Unfortunately I had to be sick when I was as busiest... May is the month when the students take the standard tests in English and the teacher has to read hundreds of essays and other sorts of tests involving reception skills (reading and listening). On top of that we have to assess each student's speaking abilities, which means several hours of listening. Thankfully, most of the students are good at speaking English, so it doesn't hurt my ears too much. :)
Naturally I had to squeeze in auxiliary pioneering in May as well, and all of a sudden 50 hours seem like a daunting task. It is extremely interesting and fulfilling, don't get me wrong, but I should have picked a less stressful and busy month. Hopefully I can do my hours despite being sick.
On top of all this, the world championships in ice-hockey take place in May. Being a strong supporter it's difficult having to prioritize other things over hockey, but this far I've missed three games. The quarter finals are tomorrow and I'm just hoping that if Sweden advances to the semifinals on Saturday I will be able to watch their game. At least it's not in the middle of the night as the Olympic games.
The weather is quite good: 20-25 degrees Celsius with some sunshine. Finally it feels like spring! It would be very nice to have this kind of weather when my summer vacation starts in three weeks....
