Another world, part I

Spending 12 days in Iceland with wonderful friends and gorgeous nature was a blessing. In 2007 I was there with some teachers and classmates and experienced amazing things, but this trip surpassed all of that. However, this magnificent island won't be described neither in words nor photos. You just have to go there and see it for yourself!

We went straight from the airport to the Blue Lagoon

Thingsvellir National Park

The first week was rainy & cloudy, but we had one nice evening with this beautiful sunset

Rabbits galore in the surrounding area

Harpa - the concert hall in Reykjavik

I've never seen so many ugly houses as in Reykjavik...

By the Atlantic Ocean

1000 Icelandic crowns are 70 Swedish crowns.
Or a little bit more than 8 dollars.

5 k hike to the second highest waterfall in Iceland

We had to go through a pitch dark cave

We had to cross the water balancing on a slippery log

We had to hold on for our dear lives...

... and be careful not to fall down

When we came to the top the waterfall was swept in fog...

... but we still got some nice pics and it was so worth the climb!

Tacos!

Sushibarinn in Reykjavik

Frozen yoghurt with a lot of goodies

Hamburger muffins

Icelandic is very similar to Swedish. You just add an -ur at the end of every word! Haha, not. But sometimes it works.

Ice cream with crazy people. Love it

Seljalandsfoss

You can go behind the waterfall

Seljavallalaugn - a pool with warm water from hot springs smack dab in the middle of nowhere. We also jumped into the adjacent river. Freezing cold!
